more photos of NYC

Two weeks ago we spent our anniversary weekend in New York!  We went everywhere and our feet were so tired everyday, but it was worth it!  Our hotel was just around the corner from Grand Central Terminal, so we were there quite a lot.  Then we went to Wall Street and the financial district, saw the Statue of Liberty from the river bank, headed over to Brooklyn to see the bridge and eat pizza - then we took in the view from the other side of the river.  And lastly, we went to Chinatown and Little Italy where we ate dumplings and tirimisu.  Mmmm!  The theme of the trip seemed to be full bellies and tired feet!

New York

Michael and I just celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary by taking a trip to NYC!  I can't even tell you how blessed my life has been since meeting Michael.  My life has never been the same.  Marriage can be hard, but it's over all so wonderful and brings me so much happiness!  So before you see our trip, check out an old photo of us.  I was only 18 when we met!

Here we are 8 years ago : )

I had never been to the Big Apple, so we packed our bags and took a whirlwind tour of the city over a 4 day trip.  Here are a fraction of the photos we took.  More to come!

we moved!

We moved months ago and I've been too busy to write about it!

And life has changed from horrible commutes into Atlanta... to peaceful drives in the country.

From a job I couldn't stand... to work that is more meaningful than I can express in words.

From boring Friday nights... to hours of worshiping the Lord.

God had this planned for us the whole time, we just weren't focused on His plan at all.  I'm not wealthy, but my life is very rich and full.  Rich because of the dear friends/family I have and the work I have the honor of doing.  It's full of love and joy and peace.  We went through a really rough patch, but I am happier now than I ever have been.

Michael has a passion for gardening.  We have chives, peppers, tomatoes, rosemary, lavender, mint...

 Where I commute to nowadays.

Goodbye Atlanta traffic!  I won't miss you!

One of Michael's oldest friends - Dusty and his fiancĂ©, Colleen, live in Richmond and we had the chance to visit with them over the holidays!  We've never been that far up the east coast and we actually loved Richmond.  They live in a cute old apartment in Carytown surrounded by locally owned boutiques and restaurants.  It was so nice to catch up with old friends and just relax.

We spent a lot of days eating at local restaurants and nights by the fireplace sipping wine playing super competitive games of The Settlers of Catan (a game we're now obsessed with).  Dusty and Colleen were such lovely hosts.  I wish we lived closer!!! : (

 This is their neighborhood.
The view from Dusty and Colleen's balcony : ) So cute!
 Yummy treats from Dixie Donuts!
 Chillin at the hizzy.
 The. Best. Game. Ever.

We went to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and took a look at the CHIHULY exhibition.  He makes crazy glass sculptures.  The neon one was my favorite.

We also had newlywed's Amanda and Josh over one night!  It was a Gilmer High School reunion (Amanda, Dusty and Michael were high school pals.)

We went to dinner on NYE at Pasture in Richmond.  Yum yum!
